MUNA is a Los Angeles-based indie pop trio who met at USC's Thornton School of Music in 2013 and have since grown into one of indie pop's most vital and electrifying acts. A touchstone for LGBTQ+ audiences, they build hook-driven, emotionally candid worlds that drench electronics, post-punk, synth-pop, and new wave in metallic sheen while carrying a brooding melancholy that undercuts the hedonistic highs. Their 2022 self-titled album earned them Band of the Year from Consequence of Sound, year-end list placement from Billboard, Rolling Stone, and TIME, and slots opening for both Harry Styles and Taylor Swift on their respective tours.
