Pianist Zee Zee (Zhang Zuo) gives a recital inspired by myths, fairy tales, and Romantic literature. On the first half is Ravel’s grim and virtuosic tryptic Gaspard de la nuit, as well as Ma mère l’Oye, a suite as simple and precious as a book of nursery rhymes. On the second half, Zee Zee plays selections from Liszt’s musical travelogues Années de pèlerinage (Years of Pilgrimage), featured on her recent Decca Classics album.
