Mary Halvorson pushes against genre as a progressive jazz guitarist, leader, and composer. Called “an unflinching original who has revealed new possibilities within the music” by The New York Times, she earned a 2019 MacArthur Fellowship and repeat recognition in DownBeat’s International Critics Poll. For this intimate duo performance, she is joined by drummer Tomas Fujiwara, a longtime collaborator featured on her recent Nonesuch release About Ghosts.
