Called “Africa’s premier diva” by TIME magazine, Angélique Kidjo is a Grammy Award—winning singer-songwriter who crosses West African traditions from her childhood in Benin with elements of R&B, funk, jazz, and European and Latin musical traditions. Her striking voice, stage presence, and fluency in multiple cultures and languages have expanded her following across national borders, and she has been recognized with the Amnesty International Ambassador of Conscience Award and the Polar Music Prize.
