Silicon Valley’s New Treehouse Hotel: Where Innovation Meets Adventure

The new Treehouse Hotel Silicon Valley in Sunnyvale, California is a hotel that doesn’t feel like a hotel at all. Set on what was once an orchard lined with grapevines and fruit trees, the grounds now feature citrus groves, lush gardens, preserved oaks, and native trees.

At the Treehouse Hotel, salvaged wood becomes sculptural furniture and colorful custom textiles add warmth. The hotel’s 111 guest rooms and suites combine natural materials and artisan pieces with modern comforts. Farm-style desks encourage sketching, journaling, or snacking. Some rooms open to patios, while others feature built-in reading nooks or soaking tubs. All include natural cotton robes, custom refillable bath products, and minibars stocked with locally made treats.

Dining is part of the adventure. Ingredients come from nearby farms, and menus shift with the seasons. Valley Goat, a new destination restaurant from James Beard Award–winning chef Stephanie Izard, serves a globally inspired menu that celebrates the region’s produce — think avocado dip with chili-lime crunch, goat empanadas, and sticky toffee plantain cake. Guests dine in a space adorned with hand-painted goat art and vintage finds from local flea markets.

For a more casual start to the day, the Backyard Café offers Bluestone Lane coffee, breakfast, and light bites. The seasonal Beer Garden pours 32 rotating taps of local brews alongside biodynamic wines, with lawn games and live music drifting through the evening air. Around the property, discoveries await — you might stumble upon a charming book swap house or the Wonky Ones Market, with its ever-changing selection of quick, healthy snacks. The hotel’s event calendar keeps the energy fresh, from backyard brunch parties and guest DJ sets to hands-on workshops like pottery making or terrarium planting.

In-room craft kits, curated playlists, and vinyl record players (available on request) add to the hotel's sense of creative play. And because adventures are better with four-legged companions, the Treehouse Hotel is one of the few in Silicon Valley where pets stay free — just another reason this isn’t your typical hotel stay.
